After years of dancing both in the UK and internationally, we have learnt that there are many various aspects that make a great casino/cuban salsa dancer (SPOILER: it's not only about learning a ton of moves or the most difficult ones! check our FAQ for more info). For that reason, we have structured our lessons and our levels a bit differently as you can see below. We are sure that whether you are an absolute beginner or you are an advanced rueda dancer, you'll have an amazing fun time and learn something new to help you improve as a dancer in any class you join!
As well as mastering some salsa moves that leave you grinning ear to ear, you will learn to appreciate the music, learn about its roots, experimenting with the different rhythms and learn some tips to put your own flow into it! We like to keep our groups to a small size so we can help you master what works and what doesn't.

We have created a series of 5 independent courses/modules of 6 weeks each. All of them cover the key aspects of cuban salsa from different angles (footwork, music, core steps) but each of the modules will focus on a different skill to master in order to become a great dancer. We'd recommend beginners to attend as many modules as possible before moving forward to ensure the key moves and concepts are consolidated, however, each case might be different depending on your previous knowledge and skills.
We like to keep our groups small (up to 10 couples) to give personalised attention to the group so there will be limited spaces for the course & payment in advance is required. If you have danced salsa before but not cuban salsa and you want to understand casino better and become a proper casinero you may want to consider our 6-week CUBAN SALSA FOUNDATIONS COURSES (once available).
For example, if you've danced cross-body or cali salsa before you will find that there are some key differences in the basic steps & footwork, the styling and the structure of the dance. In the course we will teach you the foundations of casino dance and typical characteristics of the dance but we will also help you understand better the essence of cuban music and the culture behind it so you can express your most cuban self and boost your musicality and connection on the dancefloor. All in a FUN AND RELAXED way!!
We like to keep our groups small (up to 10 couples) to give personalised attention to the group so there will be limited spaces for the course & payment in advance is required. You have danced cuban salsa before but are new to dancing Rueda de Casino (or not much experience with it)
You are familiar with all or most of the basic moves in cuban salsa partnerwork: "guapea" (open basic), "dile que no", "enchufla", "vacilala", "exhibela". You may even know complicated figures in partnerwork, but not danced rueda de casino before (or not much of it). Not only are you familiar with all the basic moves in casino in our MATANZAS level (above), but you are also confident dancing and even able to dance them on your own (this applies to followers too!). You may also know some moves like sombrero, setenta, kentuky, etc, have mastered the main rueda-specific moves like "dame", "doble play", "al centro/al medio", "camina la rueda" and able to perform "arriba" comands/variations of the calls involving a change of partner. You are also able to clap, talk and laugh while dancing to the beat and adapt quickly when mistakes happen in the circle to help the flow of the rueda.
